Up Close and Personal with the Wildlife
The beauty of ballooning is that for large periods of time you are floating silently. Sometimes you may be thousands of feet high with flocks of birds flying underneath, and other times you may be just above tree top height, able to see the lizards and kookaburras as they sit oblivious in the branches.
Kangaroos are a common sight, and it is not unknown to sight the odd snake sliding into the grass off the warmth of a rock in the early morning sunlight.
The difficulty with other land based animal spotting tours is that more often than not you are limited to roads and tracks. Aircraft such as planes and helicopters get around this limitation, but are of course extremely noisy.
In a hot air balloon, you may descend over wildlife or stock without even being noticed, and get amazingly close.
Make sure you have plenty of storage on your camera for all those shots of wildlife!
